  1. Watch short 6 minute video on Labor Day in order to answer the following question: Why should we continue having labor unions?  How are they benefiting workers? Provide 3 or more exames from video to support answer.   2. Flood Myth ResearchProject Rubric: The story of a great flood has been found in the mythology and literature of almost all peoples world-wide, which has convinced many authors that it was a real event. Gather info on following:
    1. Top: Plot Diagram (top of shoe box) 
    2. Sides: Character Names/Pic
    3. Back: Illustrate setting
    4. Inside: 3-D scene depicting flood story.

  1. Vocab List #3: "BASTION & JETTISON"
  2. Gallery Walk: Visit two shoe box projects and complete the 8 discussion questions and Venn Diagram.  Complete a compare and contrast paragraph for your story and one you visited today.

  2. Introduce Unit 2: Common themes in world literature
    • Theme #1: "It's Not Fair"
  3. Film Study: Do citizens today need protection from their government?  Watch film and provide evidence to support your claim.

    • Persuasive paragraph on protection
FRIDAY 9/9
  1. Finish film for theme #1
  2. HW TONIGHT
    • Find examples of unsung hero's like the Deacons for Defense that were protecting their communities (environmental, social, judicial injustice, women rights, etc)
