  1. Notes: Mesopotamia and Sumerians
  2. Notes: Epic of Gilgamesh. Answer questions 1-12. 
    • Read Death of Enkidu and answer questions 1-8 on page 24.
HW: Study for Unit Test on archetypes, vocab lists, flood myths, Genesis and The Epic of Gilgamesh



Wednesday-Thursday

  1. Notes: Gilgamesh
  2. Read pg. 23-24 Death of Enkidu and complete 1-8.
  3. Watch documentary on the effects of Gilgamesh on other artists and literature.
HW: Study for Unit Test on archetypes, vocab lists, flood myths, Genesis and The Epic of Gilgamesh and complete ALL 10 words on vocab list 2

Monday-Tuesday
  1. Watch Genesis Flood Story and complete as much of the "Genesis" side of the T-Chart as possible.  You will fill-out the rest once each group has presented their chapter.
  2. Complete group PowerPoint for your chapter of Genesis Flood Story.
    • Slide #1: Cover Page (include title with chapter and images representing region)
    • Slide #2: Summary of Chapter in own words 
    • Slide #3: Archetypes List w/ Images
    • Slide #4: Questions for Class (3 multiple choice questions to test if audience is paying attention. One of them must ask about archetypes).
    • Slide #5: Works Cited Page (Minimum 1 Source)


HW: Vocab List #1 (10 words) due Friday 17.

Wednesday

  1. Creation Story Presentations
  2. Notes: Students took down answers from presentation questions to serve as study guide for creation test at return of break.
Thursday-Friday

  1. Watch Noah's Ark 
  2. Complete the T-Chart with the 24 questions on Genesis.
HW: Vocab List #1 (10 words) due Friday 17.  Study archetype and creation story notes for test on Monday 27th.

  1. Warm-up: Document a new bit of Black History from the documentary in notes section (see 2/3)
  2. Mini-lesson: Take notes on MLA format for research paper.
  3. Finalize Creation Story Project
  4. REQUIREMENTS FOR TEACHING PROJECT
    1—Choose a work from world literature websiteworld lit project link #2 (Work must be approved by the Teacher)
    2—Identify the country that represents your work on the world map.
    3—Provide a summary of the country or region's culture using at least (4) significant facts. (Submit to Teacher)
    4—Provide a summary/overview of the work using (4) significant points.  (Submit to Teacher)
    5—Define and identify (4) literary archetypes in your work. (Submit to Teacher)
    6—Respond to the following question in three to four sentences:  Level 3—How does your selected work apply to our lives in America? (Submit to Teacher)
    7--INCLUDE MUSIC OR FOOD THAT REPRESENTS THAT CULTURE.
